Nicolás F. Soria Zurita
Ph.D. Mechanical Engineering
I am an engineer, researcher, designer, and creator, dedicated to exploring new forms of design through state-of-the-art-technologies. I am passionate about science and technology to inspire creative design solutions.
My work is in engineering design, especially in implementing design methods with computational approaches to develop products and systems that include human needs, capabilities, and limitations during the early design stages. I’m interested in machine learning, data mining, database management, manufacturing, and sustainable design.
My research focuses on developing design theory and methods with computational approaches to develop products and systems that include human needs, capabilities, and limitations during the early design stages. Recent projects include: developing AI to collaborate as designers, understanding the behavior patterns of designers, and exploring design repositories to identify human errors for new product development. If you are interested in my research, please find more details here.
I received my graduate degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State University, and an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Universidad San Francisco de Quito .
